Damdam
The Client: Damdam (damdamofficial.com)
This was my first full web design project. I was contacted by Giselle Go and Philippe Terrien a few months ago to serve as the Digital Art Director of their Japanese skincare line, Damdam.
The brief for this was to translate the existing branding (they already had the logo, packaging, collages, and photography) for online. There were different styles of images and collages and we had to figure out a design that would unify them and be user friendly as well since it's a online store. Of course the job is easier when you have great material to work with such as these collages and graphic elements by Monica Urquijo Zobel and imagery by Patrick Stephan.
It was a pretty challenging project considering that the developers were all Japanese and I never got directly in touch with them. Everything was done through translators via e-mail but in the end things worked out!
For this project I used Sketch to design both the desktop and mobile versions. Aside from this, we also had to come up with some print collateral for the launch, a social media teaser template, and travel kit designs.
More cool things coming later this year where I get to do some packaging!
