The Leftovers

The Brief: Using handmade techniques make a poster and promotional material for a film, TV series or album cover. (student work)

For this brief I chose to use the HBO series The Leftovers. The show is basically about the aftermath of the Sudden Departure, an unexplained event where 2% of the world disappears. I really liked the idea of erasing people from images (a visual the show uses in its Season 2 opening billboard) so I went on YouTube and searched for techniques to do this. Luckily it wasn't that hard and it gave me an excuse to go to a flea market to find old photos. The final posters are documented versions of the bleaching process.
